Kopenhagen Konsulting teamed up with a global energy giant to tackle new challenges in cybersecurity. Although the client had a solid cybersecurity foundation, they needed a strategy that could keep up with a rapidly changing threat landscape and stricter regulations. Their goal was to elevate cybersecurity from just a protective measure to a key business enabler within their broader digital transformation efforts.

We embarked on a two-month strategy mission that unfolded in three key steps. First, we evaluated the client's cybersecurity capabilities, organizational readiness, and strategic drivers. Next, we identified strategic themes to leverage strengths and close gaps, ensuring cybersecurity became a cornerstone of their digital transformation. Finally, we introduced an agile execution model, transitioning the client from traditional program management to a dynamic approach. A cross-organizational governance team was also set up, bringing together senior leaders from across the business.

The strategic direction we crafted was quickly embraced by the executive team. We then put the revised governance model into action, introducing new tracking and oversight mechanisms. Our efforts paid off, resulting in:
