Roadside Enforcement Tech Upgrade

Ambition

With toll schemes growing, our client needed a fresh supplier for roadside control systems. The aim? A comprehensive framework covering equipment and a platform for a new toll system for trucks. This system would use both fixed and mobile setups, leveraging license plate recognition and DSRC for identifying vehicles and classifying potential violators. The standout feature was its strong focus on IT security, ensuring purchased equipment and SaaS platforms were robust and secure.

Solution

Kopenhagen Konsulting teamed up with the client's procurement and technical teams to design the framework agreement. Our goal was clear: specify the technical platform and supplier delivery model. Engaging in market dialogues, we crafted a detailed requirement specification. This led to several innovative hardware solutions and an operational setup ready for future control regimes. We focused on flexibility, quality, and cybersecurity, ensuring the control solution met high standards and handled sensitive data securely. We collaborated closely with the client’s IT security officers, addressing requirements like ANPR, DSRC, and classification tech. We also emphasized the overall solution architecture and its integrations.

Outcome
  • Created detailed public tender materials and a requirement framework to match market suppliers.
  • Developed technical concepts and operational designs for the control scheme to maximize control pressure within a given OPEX budget.
  • Designed specifications and integrations aligning with the overall solution architecture, prioritizing enhanced IT security.
