Streamlining Processes for the Great Belt Link

Ambition

To support operational growth and achieve ISO9001 certification, the Great Belt Link's organization, responsible for payment operations and the toll plaza, aimed to develop an organizational-wide process landscape. The goal was to document core, support, and management processes meticulously, creating a value-driven management system using business process management (BPM) practices. BPMN served as the documentation framework to ensure a unified starting point and language across the organization.

Solution

Kopenhagen Konsulting stepped in as a crucial advisor for the S&B compliance department. We drove the implementation process, engaging key personnel and securing management approval for process ownership. We defined a comprehensive process landscape covering core, support, and management processes, breaking them down into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Through workshops and BPM/BPMN training sessions, we helped shape and lead the organizational approach. Continuous quality assurance of documentation ensured everything was coherent and complete. Collaboratively, we integrated the entire process landscape into the company’s knowledge management platform and embedded it in the toll collection management system.

Outcome
  • Defined the process landscape, providing advice and support for successful project implementation with broad organizational involvement.
  • Established and documented a complete process landscape for core, support, and management processes, aligned with BPM and BPMN principles.
  • Implemented organizational-wide process ownership and governance for ongoing maintenance.
