PMO Powers Up Zero Trust and IAM Initiative

Ambition

Kopenhagen Konsulting was brought in to set up a Project Management Office (PMO) for a major Zero Trust and IAM initiative, involving multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders. The programme had been underway for a while but lacked a structured tracking and reporting system, leaving management without the necessary information.

Solution

Over six months, we established and controlled a programme PMO for all Zero Trust and IAM efforts. This included creating a governance structure, defining roles and responsibilities within each project, and setting up steering committees for strategic alignment. We also developed processes for budgeting and resource control within the PMO. Methodologies for reporting, budgeting, work breakdown, and progress tracking were implemented across programme tracks to ensure consistency and streamline communication.

By the end of our engagement, the organization began a larger IT transformation programme to scale IT with the organization’s growth demands. Zero Trust and IAM were integrated as core deliverables, and the PMO setup transitioned into the broader transformation programme.

Outcome
  • Kopenhagen Konsulting established a fully functional PMO structure that was maintained even as the programme was absorbed into a larger one.
  • Management received timely information through formal reporting structures.
  • Budgets and approval flows were controlled.
  • Risks, challenges, and mitigation actions were addressed in time due to proper tracking.
